Toast and the Mac disagree

I've had a few problems burning DVD's with Toast. Although the VIDEO_TS folder I'm draging into Toast is less than 4.4 gigs Toast seems to think it's bigger. In the most recent example, a folder that was 3.96 gig according Finder (Apple+I) Toast said it was 5.25 gigs and there wasn't enough room on the disc. Anybody have any thoughts on what could be happening. I think it may have something to do with the length of the video file when you drop it into Toast. If the blue bar next to the red 'burn' button fills right to the top, it won't allow you to burn.
