DVD-R's recorded from Mac work with regular DVD players?

I want to know if a video i record using iSight on Mac that is burned to a DVD-R will work with a normal DVD player or if i would need a DVD recorder or something else to play it.

Should work fine. I make DVD's on my Dad's emac (Don't have my new iMac yet)all the time using iDVD and they have played in every standalone DVD player I have tried

I believe the question is: Is the movie in a format that can be played on any DVD player?
