I am using iMovie to edit a movie and I need to bring in some MPEG files that I have-but I can't import them! I was trying to fing a free software that would convert them into "something"/"whatever", just so I can work on them... Does someone knows what should I look for? Or have a better idea? Please, Help!

You can't import mpeg files into iMovie, it has to be converted into a DV stream. I use Quicktime Pro. It's worth the $30.

I agree that QT Pro is a great program to have but I wonder what version of Imovie you are using. I believe that with imovie3, you can import files that are not DV. I'll try it when I get home but I believe I do it all the time.
