I exported a bunch of video onto my Windows desktop last year using Windows Movie HD. I recently bought a MacBook Pro (incredible!) and started importing the video into iMovie. I noticed that when I import the video the metadata about when the video was taken is lost. It only shows the "last modified" date which was in 2006 when the video was exported. Am I doing something (i.e. should I change a setting) or will I need to import directly from video into iMovie to recapture all that metadata?

The creation date is only embedded depending on the type of file format (container) used encoding the video in the first place. There is no video metadata standard like JPEG. You should reimport. Try this program: www.foottrack.com Good luck. Quote:
