There's a couple of short movies I made that for some reason got lost on my external HD, however - they are immortalized on one DVD (and YouTube but there's no way I could get reasonable quality from YouTube even if it was possible to import from there).

I would like to have them back on computer as I would like to make a DVD compilation of my shorts.

Is it possible to import a DVD movie into a Quicktime file?

Many thanks,

CR.

I think Handbrake may solve this problem. It is designed to convert DVD content to something else other than VOB files.
