Jailbrake

Not sure its ok to ask about Jailbraking but here goes...
Rainy day so thought I would kill some time playing with Iphone Jailbrake. Downloaded Purplera1n and followed instructions but the iphone just sticks on the ITUNES screen showing to plug it in ??? Restored the phone back but just wondered is there something else I need to Jailbrake iphone 3GS 3.1.2 .
Thanks

You need to be using Blackra1n,It's probably the easiest and fastest jailbreak available, takes less than 30 seconds.

good luck.

blackra1n

Jailbaraking iPhones and iTouches is illegal and therefore cannot be discussed here.

I don't believe so..Jailbreaking has been discussed here previously and those threads have not been locked due to MacForum violations..

According to Wikipedia, Apple does consider it a violation of copyright.

Ok, but it's not illegal.

Do you hang your hat on everything Apple says?

There is no flame wars, But you said it's illegal when in fact it is not, And even if Apple says it's illegal to jailbreak, who are they to say what is legal or illegal? They (Apple) do not makes the laws.

No need to for tense words..Jailbreaking is a gray area for sure..since you are using Apple hardware and mostly Apple software, but adding additional software that forgoes Apple's control..

I think, in most cases, just pointing to a particular site is enough for all the information regarding Jailbreaking since most of it involves just following the prompts anyway..

We use "illegal" at MacForms to mean against the EULA, the same reason used to close down discussion of running Mac OS on non-Apple hardware..

And violating copyrights is illegal. Therefore, if indeed Jailbreaking is in violation of copyright, than it is illegal as well. That's all I've got to say, so since I know nothing of this Jailbreaking I'll leave you guys to it

When I see the decision made in court then I will go with it, Not because Apple says so,This has yet to be determined.
