Alright, time to dispel some false information.

Jailbreaking is a violation of the Apple EULA. That does NOT make it illegal. The rules here at Mac-Forums have relaxed a bit recently; however, that does not mean we are allowed to go nuts. We can discuss jailbreaking in general terms only, such as discussing the ease or difficulty of the process or which third party apps one uses. We cannot get into the exact details on how to go about jailbreaking the iPhone/iPod touch. For that, simply provide a link to the appropriate site and that's it.

As for running OS X on non-Apple hardware, it depends on the method. If you use a hacked copy of OS X, that's in violation of both Apple's EULA and the DMCA, the latter of which makes the process ILLEGAL. As such, discussing hacked versions is not allowed on the forums. If you wish to discuss hardware bypasses, such as Psystar or the USB dongle, then it's currently only against the Apple EULA as the courts haven't fully decided on the legality yet. We've had multiple discussions on Psystar so it would appear that it's a topic that can be discussed here at M-F.

You don't need to show sympathy for me, but thanks

I come here both to help and to learn. And I've just learned. It's never wrong to be wrong unless you continue to do so. Now unless people start being jerks when I get things wrong, I won't take it too hard.

However, compared to me you look pretty young there!
