I think i am buying an ipod touch off of some kid i know, and im not sure if he has the protection plan. If he doesn't, can i just buy it from apple? Or can i only get it if i order the touch from apple with the plan thing with it?

It depends on how old the Ipod is. Get the serial number of the iPod and check with apple on it.
