My iPod will be turn on and play when I have turned it to sleep, and locked it.

What gives, I thought that I had to unlock it, then push play...

It just kinda does its own thing.

I don't have a remote, just headphones.

This becomes a problem, when after class I find that it has been running for 50 minutes, while in my back pack, supposedly turned to sleep.

The other day I had no more battery when I should have, because it drained while playing by itself.

It can't be stopped!

The alarm was set for 7:30, maybe that is why I always saw it on, and possibly I just didn't turn it off that one day before class...

Thanks for the help!

Same thing happened with my girlfriend's new mini...
Anxious new users trying out the alarm feature and then forgetting about it I suppose...
