ipod features

how do you use things such as audiobooks, photo import, voice recorder, etc? can i add contacts, or add events in the calendar, or add notes from my ipod? or do i have to create these on my mac and then use isync to transfer them?

cant figure out how to use those things directly on the ipod. any help appreciated. thanks.

Audio books just drag on from iTunes
Photo import requires you get a media reader
voice recorder requires you get a microphone
Calendar and Address book things are done through iSync
