iPod - PLEASE HELP...trying to reformat iPod Nano

I'm trying to reformat my iPod Nano to Mac version. I've downloaded the latest updater and tried to restore it to factory settings. However, when iTunes tries to restore the iPod, it shuts down midway through. Can anyone help resolve this issue? Thanks.

I could use some more info. What OS are you using? What kind of nano?
