iPod - iPod Mini question

My girlfriend gave me her ipod mini temporarily until my iPod is back from BestBuy servicing it for the LAST TWO MONTHS! but thats another story lol Just wondering I have about 24G of music on my itunes and her iPod only holds roughly 1000 songs how would I go about putting say certain playlists on her ipod or only a certain songs versus the way itunes just puts only up to a certain amount of songs on its own until the ipod cant fit anymore.
