iPod - iPod classic 160 to camera connector

Just bought iPod classic 160 GB
Have seen posts on apple site that it does not work with camera connector.
Can anyone verify that this is true.
If so, how do I get photos into iPod without computer?

From what I've read, no, the camera connector doesn't work with new iPods. AFAIK the only way to get photos onto it is with a computer.

i think the new composite cables work.

Only as composite cables - you can't get photos onto an iPod with them.
