how much are IPODS in the USA?

I will be going to the USA in a few days, and was wondering if the 15GB IPODs are much cheaper in the USA. Many thanks

The 15 GB 3rd gens are $249 at the local Apple store. I bought one today for $229 total (tax free weekend and corporate discount).
