New Ipod's anytime soon?

I am planning on purchasing my first ipod. I know the current models have been out a little less than a year now. I am wondering what everyones thoughts are on a new model of ipod coming out anytime soon. I'd just hate to buy one and something newer comes out a month later.

I would guess that the new ipod will have a touch screen like the new iphone. As to when it will be out? No one knows.

It will be great if they come out with an iPod that has the same interface of the iPhone. But honestly I don't think that will happen for a while since they would want to give the iPhone its fair share of the market before rolling out with new iPods.

Agreed. I would LOVE a widescreen iPod with the same interface as the iPhone but I doubt we'll see one for a while. In th meantime the current video iPod is very nice, I was actually very surprised at how good the screen quality is when I got mine recently.

I wouldn't like that. The click wheel of the iPod is such a signature design that giving that up would be a mistake in my opinion. One of the things that has drawn me to apple products is the ingenuity among all its various gadgets. Nothing is really like anything else... the only true bridges that connects all the products are sleek, beautiful designs, and the apple logo... and I think that's pretty neat!
