Hey people. Just made a short video, for those interested in the "Diagnostics" mode on iPod Nano (2G but apparently this works for 1G also).
You may find the video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...08305&hl=en-GB |

It works for all of the "Click Wheel" generation iPods, including the Gen 4, the iPod Photos and the iPod Videos.

It's not an "Easter egg", it's the built in diagnostics mode. It can help you troubleshoot your iPod when it starts acting up.
iRye, try plugging it into a firewire cable, it needs to complete the test selected. ![]() |

I'm not quite sure what you are getting on about in this post, but it doesn't seem to add anything to the discussion and makes you seem vaguely troll like...

I am well aware of all the benefits of Mac OSX/Windows/Linux/BSD etc; each has it's uses and pitfalls, where one/all of the other contenders shine through. I am sure Steve Jobs is a genuinely nice guy, but I had this deep-seated underlying sense that I was being overcharged for my Macs, and I could get a great deal MORE for my ££s, by going back to the PC & Linux combo. I completely disagree with the way in which Apple is behaving, environmentally, and I dislike paying a whole 50% of my cash, as PURE PROFIT, to a company who depend on their reputation, in order to justify such a ridiculous profit margin, time after time, even if common sense dictates that laying out SO much money, is stupidity. Apple Macs are indeed amazing and easy to use , and I am finding it very hard to find many downsides to owning one, but the aforementioned ethical issues, were enough to convice me that I didn't *need* a Mac any longer, and could use the cash for a much wiser purchase, no matter *how* much my heart told me I *wanted* one. Having said this, I am about to purchase an iPod video; there is NO viable contender to the iPod in the digital music player arena, imho!. |

I really wish I knew how that post had anything to do with the topic of this thread.
I completely disagree with you on pricing, especially when compared to other PC makers like Dell , Sony and HP. Apple's product line is well withinn the same price point range for similar offerings. Sure, you can buy a $400 Dell PC with all the bells and whistles, but it IS a $400 PC and you DO get what you pay for in the end. Are you saying that Dell doesn't have a high profit margin on a $2000 PC? How do you think they can afford to SELL $400 machines? As for your environmental issues, well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. And the word that is generally used to describe Steve Jobs, even by him, is "A-Hole". ![]() Last edited by baggss; 06-20-2007 at 03:20 PM. |

No thanks - thanks for your advice, but I am more than aware of how/what to buy, and I don't get ripped off by people. Period. I think Macs are great, as I said, but I'm not gonna be brainwashed into thinking that Apple are the ONLY company that offer exceptional service for their machines, and walk blind into another Mac purchase because of this naive point of view. They are great, but then again so are a LOT of other machines!. |
