Google for, and download iSquint. That'll probably fix you up for converting most videos to iPod format. It has for me. 'Tis free.

Oh, and you'll probably want to download Flip4Mac to do .wmv type videos, and the DIVX codec for others that you might find from the...other iTunes store. Wink.

If you don't mind paying a little bit, look at picking up Popcorn by Roxio.

A better idea than Popcorn (which is a fine idea) is to spring to Toast Titanium -- it includes the popcorn abilities and so much more.

I would skip Popcorn all together, and Toast is not really the right App for what you want to do. iSquint is your best option, and if you want to spend a few $$$$ buy VisualHub, which is iSquints parent App.

What extras does visualhub have?

I use Isquint all the time, I wouldn't mind throwing a few bucks at the developers, they've certainly earned it from me - but do I get some interesting toys?

VisualHub will pretty much convert any format to any other format, not just to iPod format.
