Frozen ipod

my ipod nano current gen is corrupted. i tried to the restore to factory settings thing, but all i got was a message saying it couldnt be done because itunes couldnt dowload some kind o files that were missing . any i deas. i got it like 2 days ago. so its either back to the store or fix it. btw im on pc.
