My 30g 5th gen. froze up today with the "do not disconnect" screen on.
A quick search here and a restart later, and it was thawed out.

Now when I plug it into my computer, nothing happens.
No icon on the monitor, no "do not disconnect", no nuthin'.

Could this be a software glitch, or should I just go buy a new cord for it
and see if that's the problem?

I just checked the cord with my AC charger unit, and it works ok there.
I guess it's a software issue.

I tried everything you suggested, with no change.
Well, not everything. I can't restore without it showing up to give me the restore button, but everything else.
Still trying....
