hi, i have an old monitor i just found in my closet, and i was gonna set it up in my garage so that i could have a movie playing off my ipod out there if i'm workin on something.

i've found plenty of cables to get from an ipod to a tv, but i was wondering if anyone knew of any cables or adaptors to get from an ipod directly to a monitor?

the monitor has one of those old school 13-pin rectangular things with the two screws that you plug into the back of a tower or laptop (only with the right adaptor, nowadays).

thoughts?

thanks!

I think if you can find a KVM switch that will do sound you might be able to make it work. Most KVMs have either S-Video or RCA Video in, but I'm not sure about Sound in. Then you could just do VGA out to the monitor and RCA Audio to a 1/8 inch plug for some speakers.

I'm just not sure if any of this exists.

any thoughts on whether THIS PRODUCT will solve my problem (see OP) would be greatly appreciated.

the product is advertised as having the capacity to connect a camcorder/DVD player/etc. directly to a monitor without having a computer in between. the applicable ports are (1) female DB15 VGA monitor out, (1) RCA composite video in, and (2) RCA composite audio in.

to me, this means that a computer monitor with a male DB15 VGA plug on it, + this product, + a set of speakers, + an iPod-to-TV cable solution, + my video iPod = success.

thoughts?
