I just bought the D-Link 7 port usb hub and when I plug my ipod to it Itunes nor Imac recognizes the Ipod, but it's charging the ipod....If the ipod it plugged in directly to the Imac, i have no issues, but I rather have it going to the usb hub so i can free up a usb port on the imac for my Blackberry.

Has anyone had this issue and is there a way for the imac to recognize through the usb hub?

tom

Is it a powered hub? If not, chances are it's not actually charging, but just showing the symbol anyway.

It's not a powered hub, but oddly it does charge the my ipod and blackberry phone. At first I didnt think that it really charged, but after leaving it plugged in for 2 hours there was defenitly a battery increase.

Is it a USB 2 hub? If its not, then it won't be able to connect your iPod to your computer. Most USB 2 hubs are powered, so I'd guess that yours might not be.

Could it have ran out of power to be able to give through the port?
are you using any other devices on the same port/hub?
