song order on ipod?

i got a cd of the net and on the id tag of the the songs i put them in order as it is in the album like from 1-11 and when i go to the album on my ipod its in very different order then the id tag. why is that and how do i fix it?

did you chnge the tags in iTunes or with another program?

Sometimes when I load albums onto my ipod from itunes I periodically find some songs are out of order from the album listing. I find that reflects the order in which the songs were downloaded to itunes. By clicking on the Albums column heading it calibrates all the songs within albums; they will then load correctly onto the iPod.
