Copied music from PC to Mac, but...

I successfully copied my music from my PC to my Mac thanks to my iPod's enable disk use feature (I am a very recent switcher). Here's the catch: after updating and re-syncing my iPod with my Mac, I noticed that I have 3.5 gigs of audio/music AND 3.5 gigs of OTHER!

How did this happen, and how do I clean up my iPod?! Now I have little room left for additional music because I have an 8 GB Nano.

Please help. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

other is alarms/photos/album art work etc.. if you restore your ipod it will get rid of the other..
