Hey- I teach media at a school and would like to create a radio station using iTunes, but what I need is software in which I can select some files to play more often than others (like station IDs -student made audio files- etc...). Any help with this or is there a better way than iTunes?

I will play the audio on a tv station on a MATV system. I need something that we can set up and just have playing all day without to much attention.
QUOTE Thanks

iTunes is only a player. You cannot create any sort of content using iTunes.

Sounds like creating a podcast and using itunes as a RSS catcher would fit your needs.

We are creating our content in Soundtrack Pro, we just need to have something that can play:

-songs randomly
-some songs in heavier rotation than others
-station IDs and student content on a heavier rotation than songs
-pretty close to free

Basically an automated system that we drop content into that will give some content more priority (and more plays) than others.

I was hoping there was something in iTunes that would allow this that I am missing.

Im not sure about a radio station via the internet, but try djay for the music... It is freeware! It will randomly select songs from your iTunes. You can download it from http://www.algoriddim.net/
