newb question: just switched from xp to osx

Hi,
I want to backup my songs onto my macbook, and then use the restore function then update my ipod. How is this done. Thanks

Senuti (if you have the songs on your iPod already) will let you move the contents of your iPod onto your Mac.

The above post by Sandwichman is the best way to get music from your ipod to your macbook.

Not exactly sure what you are asking, but... what I do, and it works great for me, is to just always keep my iPod in "disk mode", then manually transfer music onto it.
