CD info not showing in itunes

All I get is track 1, track 2, etc on my ibook but on my imac all the info shows in itunes. This happens often on some CD,s not all. Why is that and can I correct it?

1. you have to be connected to the internet
2. if it isn't a well known cd (most local bands) the information isn't in the cddb
3. mixes don't go

what happens when you go to Advanced -> Get CD Track information

2) not always true, you can put it on the cddb if you know what your doing, I have a local band cd that put their track names in the database so you can get the track information in itunes.

yea im just saying generally speaking unknown bands don't have their info on

You don't have to be on the internet to play a cd on itunes. It should read whats on the cd. I put the cd (springsteen's greatest hits) in the imac and read everything with the cable conection unpluged and it reads it fine. I also changed the settings in Advance- Importing. Fixed.

How does it do that when not online? I jumped the gun. It's not fixed. Still won't show the info on the laptop but does on the imac.

It can't do it when not online (unless the CD happens to have it embeded in it).
