iPod Photo Cache

hey guys, quick and easy question. If i no longer keep my photos on my ipod, and i changed my preferences to not update them. Can i delete the ipod photo cache thats in my iphoto library? I don't imagine that its being used by anything else? I would just leave it but its a gig and a half and i need the space....

I was wondering if I can use the photo cacgh files and convert them back to jpg or any other file to view them, these were on my daughters ipod.
