Hi,
I am trying to get some sort of easy organisation/workflow in place for keeping my music together via iTunes. I have three computers within my house, all with iTunes installed. I have tried have them all (supposedly) pointing to one main computer for the point of reference ‘Upstairs computer’, that has the 80gb hard drive and it seemed sensible to store my music up there. The set up is as follows
UP STAIRS [Main stand up PC has the hard drive with the real library]
LAPTOP PC [is pointed at the HD up stairs]
NEW iBook g4 [is pointed at the HD up stairs]
But that doesn't seem to work so well. Each computer installation needs to be configured individually for podcast subscriptions, sometimes they store them ‘Upstairs’, and sometimes they don't. And even when my laptop stores new songs ‘Upstairs’ the up stairs one won't see them unless I actively search. It can all get confusing.
Is there anyway I could automate this or set out and efficient, no pain in the butt routine.
Like a programme that will search the iTunes of all three computers store it on one and then get the other to to do a full folder import (over writing any duplications) Any suggestions would be welcome.
Just because I point my computers to the one one ‘Upstairs’ does that mean they will still store in their own iTunes folders?

How exactly have you "pointed" your libraries to the upstaris HD? Did you Alias the itunes folder or something of the sort?

When I say point, I mean in each iTunes settings, under Advance in the general tab I put my 'Upstairs' computer as iTunes Music folder locaton, so they all say D:/iTunes and are networked together.
Yet when I purchase anything it still goes to a folder iTunes makes on whichever computer I'm using.
QUOTE Thanks
