ok here's my issue/questions:
I just noticed today while trying to send a song to a friend, that if I go into my HD, then to music, then into the itunes folder, then into the itunes music folder, i see all my songs that are in itunes. (obviously) thats not the issue though. Once I open the itunes music folder where all my music is held, I see a bunch of folders with the artists names' on them. When I open them, for the most part, there will be like only 1 or 2 songs in there from that artists. Now see i either purchase the music from itunes music store, or I'll import the CD's onto my computer. I notcied another folder that was titled 'Compilations' I click on that and see Most of the cd albums i imported (ie: artist/album name/then all the tracks for that cd). I figured cool. I thought this was how it should be in the first place. Here's the problem: I noticed a few CD albums (which are double CD's) that were only half in there. (ie: disc 1 was in the compliation folder but disc 2 was in the folder that had the artists name on it) is this normal? can I correct this so that theres a folder with the names of the artists with ALL their songs in it and another in the compilation folder with folders of the albums? if this is confusing let me know.

Well, there's two solutions, really... one is that once you've imported the songs you select all the songs from the album, press Apple + I (or select "Get Info") and in the window that shows up, you check the box next to "Part of Compilation" and from the dropdown list you select "No". That will take care of already imported items. To do that for all the songs in your library, simply select all the songs in iTunes, press Apple + I and do what I said. The second is for songs you're about to import from a CD, you select all the songs and repeat the previous steps. Then proceed to import the CD.
Hope that helps. |
