Mp4 converter for Macs??

I bought an iPod video to day and i was wondering what a good mp4 converter was for mac. I have osx 10.4.4 if you need i, but i have an avi and i cant get it on my ipod and couldn't find a mp4 converter for mac anywhere please help me.

The number one prog for ripping dvds to mp4 is handbreak I dont know if that helps or not. If not try searching on versiontracker.com. 9 handbrake link click here

thanks guys the first one worked for me. But howq can i take songs off my ipod and put them on my iBook?

NM i found one that takes songs off your ipod its called iLink Pod if any one was interested.
