I'm wanting to partition my Mini (4GB) in to two partitions, one ~3GB and one ~1GB.

If I were to do this, could I reformat it back to normal later?

Also, in DiskUtility, it says under the partitioning part of the menu,

"Install OS9 disk drivers? To create a disk that can be used as an OS9 startup disk, select this option."

Does this mean I could load OS9 onto my iPod and boot into it? I'm on a computer that shouldn't be able to boot OS9 (FW800 Powerbook), but this has me wondering.

Thanks for any help.

I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can.

You wouldn't be able to still play music. For iTunes to recognize it it would require you to Restore the iPod to the normal partitions/format

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

You could put linux on your iPod, but then again it all comes down to the reasons for partitioning your iPod.

Back with the mac!
