Constantly locking up the Finder and iTunes to the point that Force Quit does zilch and the only way out is to reboot iPod and/or reboot Mac.

My thoughts are that I'm using a third party USB 2.0 card (why Apple why) since FW is no longer supported.

It locks when syncing contacts, pictures or even when just dragging an album over to it. Talk about an exercise in frustration. I've tried reloading the iPod with the latest updates with the same result. May I also say I have noticed a performance decrease in iTunes 6.x. Slow scrolling and responsiveness. Not to mention quirky artwork issues and such.

Anyone,...Bueller

Nope no problem here. But I've heard of problems with 3rd party USB cards over at iLounge.com.

Mac mini's:
1.25@1.50GHz|1GB|40GB|8x DVD+/-RW DL|AX+BT
1.42@1.58GHz|1GB|80GB|8x DVD+/-RW DL|AX+BT

I'm having some quirky artwork issues w/ my iPod video. But I fixed it by switching to manual update mode, then deselecting display album artwork on iPod, switching back to automatic update, and then relselecting update artwork on iPod. It took about 20 min to optomize the artwork, and then I was all set.

There is also a mac os x hints regarding this issue.

Apple also suggests restoring factory settings and then re-uploading your library.

Good luck.
