Ipod touch help with error code 43?

Ok first of all i asked this question about 5 times already and some of them i dont get answerd but i really want to fix the ipod so i can sell. When i plug in my ipod touch to pc(windows 7) it says "usb not recognized"/code 43 btw its (2g) ipod touch. I also bought a new charger from gamestop and tryed my friends charger both still not recognized with my ipod touch. I bought the ipod from neigbor/i got ripped off/he wont trade back..and i'm not sure if it's jail broken. BTW its NOT the usb, the usb works fine.. its the ipod. Has anyone have this problem and fixed it? thanks for your

Try putting the ipod into either DFU or reovery mode and seeing if itunes will see the ipod then.
