Mounting Ipod in Linux

While I wouldn't doubt there's some third-party kludge that would mount the iPod as a flash drive in Linux, since there's no iTunes for Linux you're not likely to get any farther than that.

So I guess the answer would be "go buy a Mac or install Windows." Sorry.

Not true. You can use something like gtkpod which will easily allow you to manage your iPod.

You can get it here. You should also be able to use Rhythmbox.

Quick question: I got a new laptop and I want to move my itunes music over to the new computer. what is the easiest way to do that? Thank you for all your support guys.

Which OS are we talking about?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

The iTunes library is really just a set of folders with your music. Therefore, if you're moving over to Linux, simply copy the folders over. If you're looking to migrate an iTunes Library, read these instructions for Windows and these for OS X.

Both Rhythmbox and Banshee support the ipods in Linux. Album art is included too, and it works really well
