hi guys, im new here. I just got my new ipod, i tried uploading my videos but it said ipod cant play them. i used macripper to rip my dvd then used hand break to encode to mpeg4 and 320 by 24o resolution. Followed the instructions perfectly heres the link to it http://diveintomark.org/howto/ipod-dvd-ripping-guide/ . Any suggestion you guys have as to what i maybe doing wrong or what i need to do.

Try encoding them through quicktime pro just export it and select the Ipod setting. it will make the file .m4v

I think video has to be H.264 encoded. Try this program ''ffmpegX". It's really cool, I was able to encode a small video into my cell phone using the .3pg format.

Quicktime Pro should do H.264 encoding. And we're now witnessing why the video iPod was not very well executed. C'mon, ONE stinkin' codec?

It's just requires a little more knowlege and correct execution to get the video mode correct. I doubt Apple had intended for every possible movie to be ported to the ipod or they may have created a simple solution to convert other formats. They would prefer you purchase your videos from Itunes.
