What is 'other' storage on my itunes? help

i have synced my iPod 4g and the 'other' storage in the itunes keeps increasing i now only have 2.5g free space on my 8gb ipod! please can anyone help!!!!!

There is no album art work on it i have deleted everything off my ipod and tryed to restore it to an earlier date but as i did that it then doubled the 'other' storage again. is there anything else it could be or how to stop it!

That is the iPod database and associated operating system files - notes - contacts, game data...

How much space are we talking about?

I see your concern on a 8GB device.

Best I can recommend is to do a restore. That seems to be the most common fix for it.
