..so is the ipod nano going to replace the mini? I noticed on the apple website, the mini isnt in the line up anymore...

Yep, that's going to be the case. So if you want an iPod mini, you'll need to hunt around fast, before they fade out.

my thoughts were that mac would send out all the rest of their minis to stores, sell them for cheaper until they're all gone. they'll stop making them and start making nanos instead. that's probably what's going to happen.

@caribiner23 - the ipods at sam's club are hp ipods, though.

Correct, except that they generally don't ship them to stores. They do mark older model items down and sell them online. They also stop further production of them, but they keep the old ones on hand for things like warranty exchange and service replacement.

So my 6 GB mini will now be a collector's item...

I have to say I prefer the mini to the nano, mainly because the mini looks more robust, holds up better against scratching, and it's not so small that I'd lose it!
