iPod touch 3G not shutting down

Hey,

I got a problem, today my ipod had some problems with iTunes ; said it could make a reservecopie because it couldnt made a sesion with my iPod. So i thougt, ill shut down my ipod and turn it back on, might fix it. Problem is, It doesnt shut down, You know the circle wich moves for about 5 seconds before your iPod shuts off? Well that circle keeps circling on my ipod... It just doenst go away > iPod isnt shutting down , is my only option just to wait now till it shuts off because the battery is empty or are there other ways to get my iPod shut off?

EDIT : Nvm, i found a solution. Uve to hold the power button and the home button together for like 10 seconds and then it will reset.
