Well, I'm at a relatives, and though I can connect to her network (WPA secured, and the signal icon at the top indicates I'm connected), I can't get on the internet by any means, nor can I access the App Store, iTunes Store or any other app that requires an internet connection.

I ran into this problem with my MacBook at her residence and got around that (I can use anything on the MacBook that requires an internet connection).

Does anyone know a fix for this?

The device is a wireless router made by Actiontec. Do you mean MAC Address? Because I have no idea how to tell if it wants that.

U need to talk to whoever set up the wireless network and ask if the Machine Address Code is needed - if so then you need to give them the MAC of your Airport Card.
You can see the Address by looking at the summary in Airport Utility.

My problem isn't in the MacBook, it's in the iPod touch.

I got the MacBook problem solved.

Plus, AirPort utility doesn't see the router or anything else for that matter.

Have u tried shutting down and restating the iPod, to see if it finds the network then - that is the only choice that i can see.

That's been done a few times already. It works on other networks, so I know the wifi antenna in the iPod isn't bad. It's my relatives network indefinitely.

Anybody else have any helpful advice?

EDIT: I reset the router, and got my iPod touch to connect to the internet, however my MacBook was kicked off and I got a dialogue box stating that another device was using the same IP address as my MacBook- in this case, the iPod touch. What I would like to know is how I can change the IP address of either device (my MacBook or the iPod touch) for this network. I know how to do this in Windows, but is it possible in Mac OS X? Somehow? I would rather change the IP of the iPod touch if at all possible.

It's my understanding that the IP address of a device varies between networks. Right?

And on a similar note, I opened up Terminal to check out something, and it says pop3:~Christopher instead of what it should say (which is the name of my computer). Why does it say pop3?- EDIT #2: I put the computer to sleep, came back to it, logged in, got on the network (by clicking on the name) and I checked Terminal again- it reads the name of my computer and not pop3. The question on this part still remains- why did it say pop3?

If all else fails you can reset your network settings. My iTouch has had network problems and that can sometimes solve it, but you will lose all passwords and such.
