Well, I'm at a relatives, and though I can connect to her network (WPA secured, and the signal icon at the top indicates I'm connected), I can't get on the internet by any means, nor can I access the App Store, iTunes Store or any other app that requires an internet connection.
I ran into this problem with my MacBook at her residence and got around that (I can use anything on the MacBook that requires an internet connection). Does anyone know a fix for this? late 2009 MacBook - OS X 10.7.5 early 2009 Mac mini - OS X 10.7.5 4th gen iPod touch 32GB - iOS 6.0 iPhone 4 8GB - iOS 6.0 |

U need to talk to whoever set up the wireless network and ask if the Machine Address Code is needed - if so then you need to give them the MAC of your Airport Card.
You can see the Address by looking at the summary in Airport Utility. like this; ![]() Click for full size |

I got the MacBook problem solved. Plus, AirPort utility doesn't see the router or anything else for that matter. late 2009 MacBook - OS X 10.7.5 early 2009 Mac mini - OS X 10.7.5 4th gen iPod touch 32GB - iOS 6.0 iPhone 4 8GB - iOS 6.0 Last edited by Chris H.; 05-24-2010 at 06:11 AM. |

Anybody else have any helpful advice? EDIT: I reset the router, and got my iPod touch to connect to the internet, however my MacBook was kicked off and I got a dialogue box stating that another device was using the same IP address as my MacBook- in this case, the iPod touch. What I would like to know is how I can change the IP address of either device (my MacBook or the iPod touch) for this network. I know how to do this in Windows, but is it possible in Mac OS X? Somehow? I would rather change the IP of the iPod touch if at all possible. It's my understanding that the IP address of a device varies between networks. Right? And on a similar note, I opened up Terminal to check out something, and it says pop3:~Christopher instead of what it should say (which is the name of my computer). Why does it say pop3?- EDIT #2: I put the computer to sleep, came back to it, logged in, got on the network (by clicking on the name) and I checked Terminal again- it reads the name of my computer and not pop3. The question on this part still remains- why did it say pop3? late 2009 MacBook - OS X 10.7.5 early 2009 Mac mini - OS X 10.7.5 4th gen iPod touch 32GB - iOS 6.0 iPhone 4 8GB - iOS 6.0 Last edited by Chris H.; 05-25-2010 at 02:17 AM. |
