is the serial number of ipod writen only on its back or is there other place where i can see it?
the thing is that i lost my ipod and i need the serial nº to trak it... any advice woulb be appreciated.

Did you register your iPod with Apple? Did you buy an extended warranty? When you first plugged it into your Mac, (if you have one) it should have brought up iTunes and asked if you wished to register it. I believe it does the same thing if you were using a PC. Your SN would automatically be given to Apple during the registration.

If someone else has found your iPod and is using it to download music from iTunes, you "may" be able to trace it thru Apple that way. But you would have had to register it first.

Yes i did register, i did´t buy extended warranty, but the ipod is new.
I may be able to trace but i don´t know how... Do you know? i look in itunes store but theres nothing there that can help me. In the apple website idem.

by the way I found the serial number in the ipod´s packing. but i dont know what to do with it...

Call Apple's customer service number and let them know that your iPod is missing or stolen and give them the SN. If anyone has found it or has your iPod and takes it in to Apple for repair, they can (if they're alert enough) notify you. I'm not sure how that works, but I know they do the same thing for stolen or lost Mac computers.
