Need your help....
I have a 2005 iPod Mini (yeah, I know it's old) that recently died. Actually it was the small 4 GB 1" hard drive that's in the unit which went south. Battery is OK. Not only are these small hard drives (made by Hitachi) scarce, they're expensive. Price is around $60 not including shipping. I read on "ifixit" that the hard drive in the Mini can be replaced by a CF. Buying a 4 GB CF is no problem, however, what I need is a step by step of how to substitute one in the Mini in place of the hard drive. The ifixit site does not have a guide for that. ![]() So if anyone has done this before and would like to lend me a hand with some instructions or if you know where I can find instructions, I would appreciate it. Thanks and regards. |

Don't ordinarily reply to my own posts... But in case anyone is interested in repairing their own iPod Mini and replacing the Micro Hard Drive with a CF drive, here's the LINK to the step by step instructions.
Found it through the ifixit web site. ![]() Regards. |
