Need your help....

I have a 2005 iPod Mini (yeah, I know it's old) that recently died. Actually it was the small 4 GB 1" hard drive that's in the unit which went south. Battery is OK. Not only are these small hard drives (made by Hitachi) scarce, they're expensive. Price is around $60 not including shipping.

I read on "ifixit" that the hard drive in the Mini can be replaced by a CF. Buying a 4 GB CF is no problem, however, what I need is a step by step of how to substitute one in the Mini in place of the hard drive. The ifixit site does not have a guide for that.

So if anyone has done this before and would like to lend me a hand with some instructions or if you know where I can find instructions, I would appreciate it.

Thanks and regards.

Don't ordinarily reply to my own posts... But in case anyone is interested in repairing their own iPod Mini and replacing the Micro Hard Drive with a CF drive, here's the LINK to the step by step instructions.

Found it through the ifixit web site.

Regards.
