So the crappy in-line controls on my Shuffle have gone crazy on me and I want to get them replaced. The problem is that I don't have the receipt, but I think it's been less than a year since Apple started selling them. If that's the case I shouldn't necessarily need a receipt for warranty coverage.

Does anyone know when Apple first sold them? Or, do you know if they can look up my receipt in their system using my phone number or serial number?

Thanks.

That should be able to tell you if you are under warranty or not.
