Hello all.

I have an iPod Touch (16gb). A few weeks ago, the HD on my Macbook Pro crashed. It had Mac OSX Snow Leopard, but when they returned it to me I noticed it does not have Snow Leopard anymore.

Now when I plug my iPod into my computer, it is not recognized by itunes, nor does it show the charging screen. What can I do?

I'm wondering if they damaged the USB port while servicing the Macbook (I assume they replaced the hard drive?). Do you have anything else at all that you can test in the USB port to see if it is working?

Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.

Yes the USB slots work as my other iPod and Camera work there.

Alrighty. How about the cable you are using? Will the iPod Touch charge if you use the cable with the electrical outlet adapter?

In addition, try updating iTunes if you don't have the most current version.

I have the current version of everything. Other ipod works with cord so that's not the issue either.

Try creating a new user and log into that user. See if the iPod is recognized by iTunes that way. If it is not, I fear your iPod may be busted.
