iPod - iTunes wont open with my iPod

y'know how it usually just opens when you plug in the iPod? it's not doing that. maybe because I charged my friend iPod on my computer too? I don't know.
and then it also randomly just stops charging, it's still plugged in but it'll stop charging. possibly because I unplugged it without properly disconnecting it(less than 5 times, tho)?

Plugg in the Ipod, go to itunes, go to the Ipod menu page a look and check the "auto open iTunes when ipod is plugged in" button.

As for the charging, i have knoe idea.
