iPod Touch - 1st Gen Ipod Home button broke

Is there an easy do it yourself repair for a 1g ipod touch home button. Mine stopped working and I don't have warranty on it. I have to restart the ipod every time i want to switch apps. Which makes it impossible to access wifi while on my school campus. Thanks for your help!

may i know the reason for not having warranty..??warranty period is over or bought without bill?? Tell first..then will tell you suggestion.

I didn't get apple care and so the first initial year warranty is up :/
