iPod shuffle trouble

Tell me.

Once you have fully charged the shuffle, installed the iPod and iTunes installations and you put the shuffle in the USB port - should iTunes automatically open in response to me putting my shuffle in?

Well, it isn't happening for me. The instructions look and follows easily but the progress isn't working. I put my shuffle in the USB port and nothing happens, not even an iPod options icon on the bottom right hand corner and isn't possible to import songs. At all.

Two **** things in a row: iBook and now this feck up.

Any help please.

Cheers.

Excuse me, but what is a USBlead/port that you mention in your topic? I just expect the shuffle to go into the USB lead via my iBook and work.

Could you possibly kindly show an image of your shuffle being connected? Thta would raise my hopes a bit.

Thanks.

Yesterday one of my mates with a G5 got a Shuffle. We stuck it into my iBook and it wouldn't stop opening itunes and asking me if i wanted to accept it as my own!

As tempting as it was, i said no lots, but i can asure you it should work straight into the side of the unit...

Not that that helps you much i'm sure....... :bandage:

Thanks for your help iWork.

I need that darned USB lead/port. I also tried my iPod shuffle on my mates laptop, another friends PC and my Dads bloody iMac G5. None of them responded to the shuffle when it should automatically open iTunes.

I shall reply again when I find out where I can get those USB lead/ports.

Cheers.

sounds like a problem with the shuffle to me, not the connection...

If it doesn't work on an iBook, i think it's a little bit buggered....

When you plug it in, wait like 30 seconds, then open iTunes and see if it's in the side bar. And by the way, the iPod icon won't show up on your desktop unless you enable disk use.

Oh crap, just when I was thinking of ordering an iPod right now(a headache deciding between Shuffle and Mini), now another potential headache! I was hoping it was as simple as plugging it into the iBook's USB drive and then dragging songs or whatever. I was well looking forward to stop using my MD player because of it's stupid fussy SonicStage software. Might delay my decision for yet another few days!

This may sound stupid Extra Terrestri, but could you possibly not have the latest version of iTunes.

I agree. I would recommend an iPod with a screen, then if you really like it, get a Shuffle later on.

yeah mini

in fact, for the same price as a shuffle, a mate of mine bought a 15Gb 3rd Gen with iTrip off ebay - i know its bigger, but it's wicked value for money

if you can't bring yourself to cope with the size, get the mini, as for the price difference, the mini is much better
