iPod - 4th Gen Error

I recently purchased a 4th Gen iPod 20Gb from eBay, but it has a large error. Its serial number is JQ440NJJPS9, and its model number is A1059 (If thats any help to anyone).

The iPod won't charge - I have connected it to my Windows PC, but all I get on the iPod is a fixed lightening bolt over a battery. I have left it charging for 12 hours straight, but there has been no improvement.

I have tried toggling the lock switch, and I've held Menu & Select buttons down together for 10 seconds aswell - It seems to respond to this as the screen goes blank, and then back to the low power Charging screen.

Can anyone shed some light on it?

Bad battery? Did you contact the seller already?
