iPod Touch - about to buy ipod touch..2 questions pls

Hi,
Just about to buy the new ipod touch and have the following questions;

> Can I use my iMac as an internet access point in order to get the internet on the ipod touch? (The iMac is connected to the internet using an ethernet cable and not a wireless router).
> Can you plug it into a lcd tv screen and watch the movies/films. if so what is the quality like?
