iPod - Shuffle issue..

Ok so when I connect my iPod shuffle to my Macbook Pro nothin happens and I dunno why. the light doesn't come on, and it doesn't charge, or sync, or anything. I dunno what happened really it just started actin' wacky...

BTW this iPod is out of warranty so gettin it replaced from Apple isn't an option

So if someone knows anything that'd help, please lemme know.. Thanks
