Can't export song off iPod?

Ok, I put all my songs from iTunes onto my iPod. Then deleted all the songs from iTunes (to save disk space).
But I needed a song (a few days later) to import into iMovie, but I can't move a song from my iPod back INTO my iTunes. I tried everything I could. I did a copy but there was no "paste" function.
Is there a way to get an iPod song back into iTunes?

I even tried just opening the iPod but I don't see any of the mp3's in there. Are they hidden or something?

for ages I wondered the same thing. Get this app for Mac it's called Ipod Util

You can then upload anything from your Pod to Itunes and it even rebuilds the playlists!!! I use this thing all the time it's really helpful.

i use ipodutil all the tiem on my powebook, its a mac osx program.

I had it but mistakenly deleted it, when I went back to this thread to find it and redownload it, it brought me to a windows version and nothing for mac.
